Fall is here, and love is in the air! While the summer season winds down, wedding season on the Outer Banks is shifting into high gear.
We are delighted to announce that Sea Ranch Resort is a proud supporter and vendor at the First Annual Outer Banks LGBT Wedding Expo this Sunday, Sept. 20 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Kitty Hawk.
The festivities start with a brunch at 11:00 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn Pier House. Scheduled performers and emcees are “Dee Lighted Tobehere” (Roxy Moorecox), Sterling Maxwell and Jamie Monroe. Your ticket purchase includes a delicious buffet and admission to the Wedding Expo.
The Wedding Expo will open at 1 p.m. with a champagne toast and features more than 30 vendors who are proud supporters of marriage equality and welcome the opportunity to help same-sex couples celebrate their union in style.
The first ever Outer Banks gay wedding expo is in conjunction with Outer Banks Pridefest Weekend 2015.
According to a recent survey, 96% of same sex couples prefer to think of their big day as a marriage just like any other, as opposed to a commitment ceremony or civil union. More than half of the couples polled agreed that their guests could use some pointers for LGBTQ wedding etiquette; if you don’t know, just ask! Nearly all of the couples polled indicated the need for their wedding vendors to communicate their support for marriage equality, and are mindful of reviews given to vendors by couples with first-hand experience in dealing with them.
All of the couples and their many supporters are thrilled that the issue of marriage equality has reached the Supreme Court and is gaining more public support each day!
