As 2016 retires and we jump on board 2017, the usual plethora of Wedding Shows and Expos loom on the horizon. Newly engaged couples will undoubtable dive into the pool and soak up ‘everything wedding’. The convention halls are filled with vendors for almost every need/want and they will be strutting their stuff to attract YOU!
Though you may have to wend your way through crowded aisles, the wedding show is a great time to open up to all possibilities…new trends, styles, venues, destinations, even wedding gowns in some beautifully orchestrated fashion shows, all can be a useful tool and a delight to your senses. Maybe the best advice I can offer is to make a list of services or products that you’re in need of, and ‘map out’ your target vendors. This face-to-face time can really be productive, giving you a sense of whether you and a vendor are a good match—remember, this is a partnership! Some of these vendors will be in contact with you throughout the months prior to your wedding, and the more you mesh with them, the better. And, it is helpful to see some of their products…in person. Of course, you can follow up online via their website, but how delightful it is to meet someone and know they are JUST right for your event!
Take some friends, family, your mom, or even the groom if he’s open to it….enjoy yourself, sample food, take information, enter raffles. It may look overwhelming, but it’s not really….and you might even win something!
If you have everything in place, all vendors selected, it’s still fun to be in the thrill of it all…..
