The Outer Banks Wedding Association is presenting the Outer Banks Wedding Fest this Sunday, Aug. 27 to present a wide variety of vendors to help your wedding planning. The OBX Wedding Fest is a precursor of the Wedding Weekend that happens in January.

Getting a jump on your 2018 OBX Wedding offers many advantages and the earlier you set plans in motion, the better. Belinda Lucey, Director of Sales and Catering, has pointed out a few of the benefits from getting a jump on your 2018 OBX wedding:

  • This is a great time to select a venue – sometimes you can get 2017 rates and costs honored for a 2018 event
  • If you already have a date and venue for your 2018 event, it leaves plenty of time to find a preferred vendor who is available
  • More time for planning allows those with the DIY approach to use platforms like Pinterest to research ideas and cost-effective solutions. This time allows you to spread out your referencing  and price things within your budget
  • As vendors and venues are reserved, pricing can be driven up for their available dates, so booking early is better
  • If you are planning your own wedding (or doing it with help) then getting a jump on your 2018 wedding will allow you to use your time wisely to handle the details that can quickly stack up and become overwhelming
