Let the Sea Ranch Resort be your home for Outer Banks Fall 2016!
A few reasons why Autumn on the Outer Banks is spectacular…
If you don’t know this already about the Outer Banks – it’s beautiful here. The OBX is famous for returning summer vacationers, but did you know that the Fall season (along with spring) is the favorite of locals? The fall season really starts after labor day, and extends all the way into the early Christmas season. We love our beautiful island, and want to tell you a little bit of why Outer Banks Fall 2016 is a perfect time to come stay with us. Each month has unique traits that make it special, and we wanted to share some with you.
September:
Although almost over, this is the month that oftens turns temporary visitors into “lifers”. The temperatures are still very warm and the water is often incredible. Crowds are smaller but still big enough to make the beach feel like the center of the universe. Everyone is open, things are on sale and the vibe is super positive.
October:
Who doesn’t love October? The nights start to get cooler, but the days are very often warm and pleasant. It’s certainly possible to swim during the first part of the month. Surfing and fishing really start to pick up and there are quite a few wonderful events to attend. Room rates drop and availability increases as the crowds thin just a bit more. We are also within an hour of eleven Wildlife refuges, so there is much to do and see in the natural environment. October is rocktober for Outer Banks Fall 2016…
Events of note:
Wings Over Water Wildlife Festival:
Outer Banks Stunt Kite Competition
Outer Banks Brewtag
3rd Annual Outer Banks Parade of Costumes
November:
As the days get shorter and the weather turns colder, our beaches open up in many ways. Our trails and wetlands become bug free and you have more of the beach to yourself. The air turns festive with a variety of events and planning a Thanksgiving here on the OBX is something to look forward to. We have millions of birds that begin showing up to winter here and there are many ways to enjoy the sight of them.
Events of Note:
7th Annual OBX Shrimp Cook Off
Outer Banks Marathon and Half Marathon
December:
Outer Banks Fall 2016 begins to roll into winter, and visitors are often getting ready for the holiday season. It is a time for friends, family and food. The OBX is very much open and ready to host as we are a year round destination. Last year we saw record crowds for December as many people are discovering the peace and tranquility of holidays on the Outer Banks.
